7th Annual Pride of Maryland Championship Begins on November 15

The 2011 Pride of Maryland Tournament kicks off today, November 15, with four opening round games. Salisbury will host Stevenson at 7:00 p.m., followed by the 7:30 p.m. tip-off games between St. Mary's at Washington College and Johns Hopkins at Goucher. The last game of the opening round will be McDaniel at Frostburg State at 8:00 p.m.

The winner of the Johns Hopkins vs. Goucher game will determine who will host the winner's bracket for Friday's semifinals and Saturday's championship game. The loser of Johns Hopkins vs. Goucher game will host the consolation bracket on Friday and Saturday as well.

The Pride of Maryland Championship features the nine Division III men's basketball teams in the state of Maryland, including Frostburg State, Goucher, Hood, Johns Hopkins, McDaniel, Salisbury, St. Mary's, Stevenson and Washington. Frostburg State claimed last year's title, while St. Mary's won back-to-back championships in 2008 and 2009.
